The Quiet North

The route, roughly.

Plans bend around weather, hosts and the occasional better idea. This is the shape of it.

1. Day 01–02

   Reykjavík, briefly

   Arrive, decompress, and a long dinner at a harbour-side table before we leave the city behind.

2. Day 03–04

   The south coast

   Black-sand beaches, a waterfall you can walk behind, and our first night at the horse farm.

3. Day 05–06

   Ice and fire

   A guided glacier walk, an ice cave, and the hot river at dusk on the way home.

4. Day 07–08

   Into the fjords

   Slow drives, smoked trout, a hike nobody else is on, and — if the sky allows — the aurora.

5. Day 09

   Home

   A last swim in the geothermal pool before the airport. You will think about it for weeks.
